Tanjung Priok Residents Educated on Early Fire Response

Residents of RW 09, Tanjung Priok Urban Village, Tanjung Priok District, participated in the socialization and training of the Environmental Fire Safety System (SKKL) held by the North Jakarta and Seribu Islands Fire and Rescue Sub-agency.

Head of the Sub-agency, Budi Haryono said the establishment of SKKL is an important step in strengthening community preparedness to face potential fires, especially in densely populated areas.

"We will continue to massively disseminate information on fire prevention and control, especially in densely populated areas in North Jakarta," he said, Monday (5/11).

Fire Agency Urged to Prepare SOPs for Electric Vehicle Fires

Budi explained that the speed of handling in the initial stages is very important in reducing the risk and losses due to fire.

During the training, residents were given theoretical and practical training on fire management, particularly fires caused by gas stoves. The training using wet towels and portable fire extinguishers (APAR).

"Residents are also given an understanding of the causes of fires, initial handling steps, and procedures for contacting firefighters in an emergency," he explained.

Head of Tanjung Priok Urban Village, Febrio Eka Putra said the SKKL training in RW 09 was the first to be held in the Tanjung Priok Urban Village area and received high enthusiasm from the community.

"Hopefully with this activity our environment will be safer and residents will be better prepared to face the potential for fires," he hoped.

Meanwhile, one of the local residents, Kusnadi admitted that he was happy to participate in the training since it provided him basic knowledge and skills in fire handling.

"Our area is quite densely populated, so training like this is crucial. I will share the knowledge I've gained with my family and neighbors," he admitted.
